FOR RESEARCH PUBLICATION IN SEXUALITY

Awarded each year to recognize and support the research excellence in sexology fostered by the Center for Human Sexuality Studies and exhibited by the students attaining their doctoral degrees in the program.

Dr. Mark Levand (he/him) is a sexuality educator, scholar, and graduate of Widener’s PhD program in 2018.  Dr. Levand researches a wide variety of topics including matters of sexuality in higher education, Catholic sexual theology, consent, and sexuality educator training.  Aside from his new role as the education practicum coordinator for the Center for Human Sexuality Studies, he teaches about education theories and methods in CHSS and the University of Michigan Sexual Health Certificate program, as well courses in sexuality at Villanova and Monmouth Universities.  Dr. Levand is the Chair of the Education Certification Committee and a member of the Advocacy committee for the American Association of Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).  He also holds committee positions with the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (SSSS) and the Society of Christian Ethics (SCE).
