Graduate Student Research Symposium

Get ready for the 2023 Graduate Student Research Symposium! 

The Graduate Student Research Symposium (GSRS) is a celebration of graduate student research presentations. Our presenters represent the graduate disciplines from the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology, the Center for Education, the Center for Human Sexuality Studies, the Institute for Physical Therapy Education, the Center for Social Work Education, the Institute for Occupational Therapy Education, and the School of Nursing.  

The purpose of the GSRS is to celebrate research endeavors authored by graduate students from the College of Health and Human Services and the School of Nursing.   

The mission of the GSRS is to create an appreciation for interdisciplinary collaboration, highlight diverse research topics and methodologies, and generate awareness about research promoting social justice, diversity, and inclusion.

The 2023 GSRS will occur on Thursday, April 27 from 4pm to 6:30pm EST (in-person and on Zoom)

The event schedule is as follows:

  • 4pm – 4:30 pm = Meet the Authors – University Center Atrium

  • 4:40pm – 5:10pm = Session 1 for Discussion Breakout Rooms – University Center Rooms & Zoom (A, C, D, F, Webb) 
    • Clinical Practice Interventions & Improvements (Room F – 2nd floor – Stairs/Elevator)
    • Community Health Improvements (Webb Room)
    • Educational Interventions (Room D)
    • Navigating Systems & Burnout: Prioritizing Wellbeing (Room C)
    • Protecting our Future: Children & Families (Room A)
  • 5:20pm – 5:50pm = Session 2 for Discussion Breakout Rooms – University Center Rooms & Zoom (A, C, D, F, Webb) 
    • Clinical Practice Interventions & Improvements (Room F – 2nd floor – Stairs/Elevator)
    • Community Health Improvements (Webb Room)
    • Educational Interventions (Room D)
