Physical Therapy

Institute for Physical Therapy

Our doctor of physical therapy (DPT) program’s mission is based on what we affectionately call “The 3 Cs”. You will graduate as a competent physical therapist who demonstrates exemplary character while assuming the responsibilities of citizenship.

Expect to complete your doctoral degree in physical therapy in three years of full-time study, which includes three full-time clinical education experiences.

You will have the opportunity to give back to the community while participating in meaningful, hands-on practice with clients at our interprofessional student-run pro-bono clinic beginning in your very first semester.

You will work and learn interprofessionally through collaboration with Widener’s other health & human service profession programs including occupational therapy, clinical psychology, social work, and soon-to-come speech and language pathology.

This program is accredited by CAPTE.

The Institute for Physical Therapy Education hosted The Pro Bono Network Conference 2022 on March 5, 2022

Widener University hosted The Pro Bono Network Conference on March 5th with 320 attendees across 48 different institutions. The Pro Bono Network looks to facilitate the collaboration of students across the nation that participate within student run pro bono clinics so they may learn from one another to maximize services provided to underinsured and uninsured members within their communities. The Pro Bono Network Conference is a wonderful platform for students across the nation to share ideas and experiences that have helped their clinics go above and beyond within their communities.
