2025-2026 ACOEL Honors Intern Scholarship Program is October 31, 2025.
The ACOEL will award scholarships of $10,000 each to five second-year law students who are pursuing a career in environmental law and are applying for a summer 2026 internship with an eligible environmental non-profit organization or government agency. Additional information concerning the program was provided in the May 9 email below.
- Applicants are required to identify the environmental internship at the time of their application but they need not have been accepted for the internship;
- The five applicants selected for 2025-2026 scholarships will be notified by December 15, 2025, and will have until February 27, 2026, to confirm acceptance for the internship;
- Funding of the scholarships is contingent on confirmation that the scholarship awardee has been accepted by a qualified environmental internship at an NGO or government agency.
Last year’s scholarship recipients interned at the Environmental Protection Bureau of the New York State Office of the Attorney General, the Environmental Division of the Harris County [Texas] Attorney’s Office, and the NYU State Energy and Environmental Impact Center. They reported that the internships provided invaluable experience and opportunities for advancing their environmental law careers, and they expressed their gratitude for the funding that helped to make these internships possible.
