Cottee Hall Move Out

The week of May 9, 2002 was designated as “Move Out Week.”  While we had been moving some thing over throughout the semester, the remaining purging and packing kicked into its final stages.  IT arrived on Tuesday to pull all the AV equipment from the classrooms and put faculty technology into summer storage as needed.  The pods arrived on Thursday.

Everything is ready for the university movers to arrive on Monday May 16 and get things to our new space, the Chester Community Clinic in Melrose Hall, or into the pods for summer storage.  Here are some images of that process.

While the University will reallocate, store or dispose of the office furniture and classroom desks, Dr Gulick worked tirelessly to donate the therapy equipment that was not making the move.  The only condition was they needed to come get it.  Clinic sites, alum, and students all came with pick up trucks and U-Hauls.

Drs. Wellmon, Dholakia, and Paterson wheeled one of the hi-lo plinths to Melrose.

The parallel bars were disassembled to make the move easier.

The high counters outside 204 were removed from the wall and are ready to move to the clinic space in Melrose.

Cottee 205 is down to a few plinths and a few mat tables.  Someone took approximately half of the privacy curtains too.

The front and rear closets of 205 are nearly empty.

Most of the remaining equipment, shelving, and teaching supplies are staged and ready to go…

Cottee 118 looks empty without the teaching podium and the chairs stacked for the movers.

Faculty offices and other work spaces are down to the furniture and boxes for the pod.

Even the snack machine had to go..

Check back for pictures of the demo and rebuild as the summer progresses.
