With new interprofessional classrooms and labs, many are asking what will happen to Cottee Hall. Cottee has been the home of the Institute of Physical Therapy Education since the first cohort matriculated in 1993. For PT alum in the Class of 1996 through Class of 2022, Cottee became a “second home.”
The Class of 2022 on their last day of class prior to heading to clinic for 2 terminal clinical experiences.
Cottee Hall will become offices for faculty and staff associated with the 4 health science programs. Renovations start mid-May 2022. Current faculty and staff will need to vacate Cottee. That means decades of “stuff” that needs to be consolidated, purged, packed for summer storage, and/or moved to the new space. Most faculty will be working remote for summer 2022 with the new office space ready for Fall 2022. We are discovering some unique items and memories found in this process. Join us in a “walk down memory lane.”

We forget that we used to have paper versions of the IPTE Graduate Bulletin and the Clinical Education Manual. Now everything is online.
Dr Campbell found 3 iterations of Clinical Instructor training. The red on left was the course presented by the Philadelphia Area Clinical Education Consortium, the middle was APTA’s first version of CI Credentialing, and the right is the most recent manual. This is now electronic too.
Jeanne Nole (program secretary) found old copies of the Employee Handbook and a guide on using Campus Cruiser (online Learning Management System now replaced by Canvas)
In another example of how technology has changed, Dr Campbell found an old set of overheads used in Professional Seminar and a reading packet used before Campus Cruiser and Canvas allowed us to post these resources electronically.
Dr Erdman found the “Checkout box” used for Client Management I (previously called Interventions I). Anyone want to gait train a 12 yo s/p tib fx who is NWB?
Some of the current artwork will need to come down. Maybe some of it will go back up somewhere. These were from one of the 5Ks – this one a color run.
Some of these prothestics and orthotics just need to go….
