Update – May 9

The walk through on May 9 was limited to the second floor.  The areas without pictures were either not seen or had limited change since the last set of pictures.

Second floor outside the “Coffee bar” student lounge area and the Musculoskeletal and Physical Assessment lab now has carpet and lockers.

The AV was being installed in the Musculoskeletal and Physical Assessment lab.  Brackets are on the walls for the TVs and they were working on the speakers.  Sinks installed in the build in cabinets and floor is completed.  The cardboard is protecting the new floor and each blue spot is an outlet for the electric hi-lo plinths that arrive May 25.

There is also carpet in the hall between the acute care lab and the ADL lab.  The orange stripes in the carpet are 10 feet apart so it will be easy to measure ambulation distances.  The railing on the wall was picked to mimic the railing found in many hospitals and other inpatient facilities.  Great for balance or standing activities.  Thanks for the idea, Dr Chancler.

Anatomy lab and locker rooms look similar; however, there are fewer building supplies and equipment so hoping they will start paint and floors soon.  Lockers are installed in locker rooms as well as the hallway outside of the lab.

What else was done or in process –

  • New HVAC system was installed on the roof
  • Painter was giving the 1st floor hallway a fresh coat
  • The PT Class of 2022 has made their class gift as a new picnic table and outdoor games (spike ball and corn hole).  We are excited to use the open space right outside our doors.
  • The OT Class of 2022 donated a bookcase and some textbooks to start a lending library.
