Order of Omega
What is Order of Omega?
Founded in 1959 at University of Miami, Order of Omega is an international leadership honor society serving members of fraternities and sororities. Its purpose is to recognize undergraduate Greeks — sophomores, juniors, and seniors — who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in multiple facets of campus and community life.
Order of Omega is not a social or living-group organization. Instead, it serves as an adjunct honor society: members are chosen based on merit in leadership, character, service, scholarship, and involvement (within their Greek chapter, the campus community, and beyond).
Core Values & Mission
The mission of Order of Omega rests upon several core objectives:
-
Recognition of leadership excellence. To honor those fraternity and sorority members who have attained a high standard of leadership in inter-Greek and campus activities, encouraging them to continue along this path.
-
Fostering unity and cooperation. To bring together outstanding fraternity and sorority members — along with faculty, alumni, and administrators — to build mutual understanding, collaboration, and support across Greek organizations.
-
Promoting service, scholarship, and community engagement. Order of Omega values scholastic achievement, campus involvement, community service, and service to the Greek community itself.
Through these pillars — leadership, scholarship, service, character — Order of Omega helps shape positive, values-driven Greek communities campus-wide.
