Chapter Accreditation Program

Widener University’s Points of Pride Chapter Accreditation Program was designed to strengthen chapter excellence through intentional assessment, accountability, and growth. Rooted in the values shared across Inter/National Fraternal Organizations and informed by campus data and industry standards, this program supports the ongoing development of our fraternity and sorority community.

This program provides a clear roadmap for chapter success, fosters shared responsibility, and serves as Widener’s semester-based evaluation of fraternity and sorority life. Through this process, chapters have the opportunity to celebrate accomplishments, identify areas for growth, and elevate the experience for all members.

The goals of the Points of Pride Chapter Accreditation Program include:

  1. Demonstrate Operational Excellence

By the conclusion of the accreditation year, chapters will demonstrate effective organizational management by maintaining compliance with university and council policies, documenting chapter operations, and implementing risk management and crisis response procedures in alignment with institutional standards.

  2. Advance Academic Achievement

Members will strengthen their academic performance by actively engaging in structured scholastic support systems, maintaining or exceeding institutional GPA expectations, and promoting a culture of academic excellence within their chapter.

  3. Cultivate Inclusive Leadership and Ethical Decision-Making

Chapter leaders and members will apply principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) in their leadership practice by participating in intentional training, demonstrating ethical conduct, and fostering inclusive chapter environments.

  4. Engage in High-Impact Experiential Learning

Chapters will contribute meaningfully to campus and local communities by designing, implementing, and evaluating community service, philanthropic, and wellness-based initiatives that promote civic responsibility and holistic student development.

  5. Strengthen Member Development and Organizational Sustainability

Members will enhance their personal and professional growth through structured mentorship, leadership development programming, and intentional goal-setting processes that support retention, accountability, and long-term chapter success.
