Cottee – August 31

August 31, 2022 — T – 12 days

As Dr Chancler has said, C-Day is approaching.  What is C-Day?  Well it is the day we get to move into Cottee version 2.0.  The builder will turn over Cottee Hall on September 12.  So the finishing touches are in process.  Carpet is down.  Most ceiling tiles are set.  Most of the cabinets and counter tops are in.  Doors are hanging while some of the side windows and conference room windows are still waiting for installation.  Refrigerators are in place but still need Keurigs and microwaves installed.  The space needs to be cleaned then furniture delivered, assembled, and put in place.  Some furniture is apparently already here and more was scheduled to arrive Friday (9/2/22).

Here are a few pictures from Wednesday 8/31.  Start with the entry from the parking lot side of the building.

Some of the faculty offices –

Faculty office assignments were released on this day.  These are Dr Campbell’s and Dr Dholakia’s offices but all offices look similar.  While Dr Campbell stays where her office was previously, Dr Dholakia is in the old 204 (rehab/small lab).  As this is an interprofessional space, faculty office assignments mix disciplines – not separating by discipline.  The majority of the clinical education and fieldwork coordinators are in close proximity to each other.

There are some nooks for comfortable seating as well as a few a few huddle rooms (think small conference room for 2-4 people).

The only area that will not be ready for Sept 12 is the admin hub.  Supply chain issues means their workstations will not arrive in time.  They will have temporary space in the connecting Bruce Hall.

Look for more pictures starting the Week of Sept 12.
