Update – April 20

Since the last walk through, there has been lots of finishing work started and even completed in some areas.  Drop ceiling grid is finished in most areas with lights installed in many.  The ceiling ventilation intake/outputs are installed in some areas.  Floors have started with most under protective cardboard.  Built-in cabinets are starting to be installed.  The lockers have arrived and most the places they are being installed appear ready.  Just over 3 weeks until we are supposed to be able to start moving in and 5+ weeks until summer classes start.  It is getting there.  Associate Dean Black and Jeanne Nolan are actively coordinating the moving of current equipment and the delivery of new items.  Most items are being staged in the classrooms completed last summer.

FIRST FLOOR

The rehab lab has not changed much and it is really functioning as a staging area.  This is where most of the building supplies are as well as lockers until they get installed.

The central kitchenette is getting built ins.

The two huddle rooms in this area are looking good with a door frame, paint, lights, and ventilation.  Flooring may be next.

The two flexible classrooms are looking good.  In the first room, the floor is installed (*Those bright blue squares are covering the outlets for the planned “power towers”).  That brown cardboard is protecting the finished floor.  Ceiling grid done with lights but ventilation not connected yet.  The second room is close behind with the floor outlets being installed.  Flooring next.

The “Den” lounge space is getting built-ins and the huddle room is in similar shape with most of the ceiling done.  Both still need flooring.

The back hallway needs some flooring and a few ceiling tiles.

SECOND FLOOR

The “Coffee Bar” student lounge has flooring under that brown cardboard.  Built-in cabinets are being installed.

The Musculoskeletal/Physical Assessment lab has built-in cabinets that look great.  There is a tile floor going in now.

Acute care lab has flooring under that cardboard and built ins are in place.

This is the best view of the ADL Lab we have had this entire time as a lot of the equipment and supplies are now out of the way.  Both sets of cabinets are in place.  Looks like the space for the bathtub is ready for an install too (right side of top picture).

Anatomy lab was getting insulation last visit.  That appears to be done and the special dry wall is up.

Locker rooms are also progressing as we could determine what was the shower.  This was in the men’s room.  So rough plumbing looks done.  Next up is probably tile, toilets, and sinks.

The anatomy tables have arrived – all 14 of them.  So ready to move them into place as soon as the space is ready.
