FAQs
1. What is the cost for services? Do you accept insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare?
The Speech-Language Pathology Clinic offers pro bono clinical services to underserved members of the Chester, PA community and telehealth. There is no fee for services. As there is no fee, we do not accept insurance, Medicaid, or Medicare
2. Do I need to have a doctor’s referral to receive services?
No; you do not need a referral to receive services at the Speech-Language Pathology Clinic. However, you will need to obtain a medical clearance from your physician as part of our intake process. The Medical Release form may be found in the Client Handbook, or available for download from our Forms page.
3. Is there a wait list for services?
Currently, there is a wait list for services. Typically, all therapy and evaluation services will be scheduled at the beginning of each semester; scheduling for the Fall semester occurs in August, for the Spring semester in December, and for the summer semester in May. Depending on availability, some evaluations and/or therapy services may be scheduled on a rolling basis each semester until the clinic reaches capacity. At that time, clients will be placed on a wait list until the subsequent semester. As the semester progresses, the waitlist decreases as we schedule more clients.
4. How can I schedule an appointment?
To schedule an appointment, call the SLP Clinic at 610-499-1159, or email the clinic at [email protected]. An SLP representative will reach out to you with further steps.
