Study Abroad

Awaken your global adventurer!
__________________________________________________________

At Widener you can participate in short-term and long-term study abroad via our exchange partners or our provider programs. Our programs give you the opportunity to explore new cultures, experience your field of study from a different cultural context, and become part of the local community where you study. In addition to studying abroad, you can also volunteer, complete an internship, conduct research, or engage in service learning.

To learn more about the programs available, browse our programs via the WU Study Abroad Portal. We work with a number of study abroad program providers including API, CIS, Arcadia, and AIFS. Additionally we have a number of exchange programs across the globe. We recommend that you meet with Global Engagement to discuss which program is best for you. To schedule a meeting, visit the WU Study Abroad Portal or email ccge@widener.edu

Worried about Finances?
__________________________________________________________

Don’t! Students often find that studying abroad is actually cheaper than a semester at Widener. We have options to fit your budget, and we will help you determine what programs work with your budget, your academic needs, and your goals.

There are many provider programs that cost 10-15k per semester inclusive of housing and other expenses. All of your federal aid travels with you, and we can look for outside scholarships. If you receive a Pell Grant, consider applying for the Gilman scholarship. Note that if you participate in a provider program, you pay the provider directly and do not pay Widener tuition the semester you go abroad.

If you have a large Widener scholarship or are attending Widener on tuition exchange, consider our exchange programs. Students pay Widener tuition while on an exchange program. All financial aid, except work study, applies.
