Resources for Exploratory Studies students

Your Academic Advisor:  Students are required to meet with their advisor prior to registration to select courses and release academic advising holds. In addition, students should meet with their academic advisor as often as needed throughout the semester to help explore options of various majors. You can see who your advisor is by going to myWidener > My Advisor.

Department Deans/Faculty:  Students are encouraged to meet with faculty and/or assistant/associate deans to explore interests, learn about majors, gain additional knowledge of the academic area and potential careers.

Undergraduate Catalog :  This online catalog provides students with all university policies and procedures, curriculum ladders, and course descriptions. Take a look at various majors and see what courses are of interest.

Career Design and Development:  This office has a number of resources available to assist students in choosing the best major. Resources include: career counselors, a resource library, FOCUS interest assessment, and more! Online you can also look at options for various majors: What Can I Do With This Major .

FOCUS2: The Focus 2 is a free tool available to all Widener students. This tools helps students to dentify their interest themes to uncover potential career paths. The Focus2 Assessment is open and free to all students and alumni.

Click the image above and enter the access code WU7391 to register today. Once you have completed the assessment, you are then required to meet with a Career Counselor to discuss your results. Call the Career Design and Development office at (610) 499-4176 to set up an appointment with a counselor to go over what the results can mean for you.
