National Pan-Hellenic Council

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The members of the National Pan-Hellenic Council at Widener University focus on uniting its member organizations. Through mutual respect and equality, the National Pan-Hellenic Council will, (1) Advocate the needs and interests of all member organizations to advance and support their independent and mutual goals; (2) Provide a form for communication and collaboration to encourage cooperation and harmony amongst member organizations; (3) Enforce campus expectations and the mutually high standards of its member organization to ensure viable and valuable contributions to the University; (4) Introduce initiatives that foster citizenship, friendship, leadership, scholarship, and the further personal development of individual members and the University community; (5) Promote cultural awareness and positively represent the underrepresented student community.

The National Pan-Hellenic Council strives to bring the differences of every individual together to promote a stronger bond between all backgrounds and encourage cultural awareness among students. Whether leading an organization or participating in service, every member is expected to uphold the highest standards expected of the University and contribute their aptitude and individualism to the Council. Also, to act as an aid in the advancement of academic success and to enhance the community of Widener University through philanthropic and service projects while promoting brotherhood, sisterhood, and siblinghood among individual NPHC members. Each member contributes to the diversity of the Council and promotes cultural awareness with an open mind and respect.

Through our Multiculturalism and our considerable variety of students, we, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, are All Widener.
