Certification Resources
Students enrolled in a program that leads to certification will be eligible to apply for Pennsylvania State Certification upon successful completion of their program. The Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Teacher Information Management System (TIMS) provides licensure requirements and certification resources. Act 48, PIL Course Reporting, and Act 48 non-Credit Continuing Education Information
In compliance with Pennsylvania Department of Education regulations, Widener University will report successful completion of up to 6 credits or 180 hours of non-(college) credit professional education courses, programs, and activities for each five year certification period to PDE, the student, and the school entity that employs the student. Records of credit-course completion at Widener University will become part of the student’s permanent transcript; whereas noncredit course records will be kept for only five years.
To request that your course completion or noncredit activity be reported in compliance with ACT 48, you must complete and submit this form to provide the necessary information to the Center for Education.
Please note: the Professional Personal I.D. number is necessary for reporting.
