Widener University Transcript Withholding Policy – effective 07/01/2024

• Widener University is committed to complying with federal regulations that prohibit the withholding of academic transcripts from current or former students for purposes of debt collection related to their attendance, including any federal student loan or institutional charges. We believe in supporting our students’ academic and career pursuits and providing fair access to their academic records.
  • Processing times for transcript orders are standard and unrelated to any account balance status.
  • Students are encouraged to communicate with the Bursar’s Office if they have questions about any outstanding balances or need assistance with payment arrangements.

Additional Information

Transcripts and documents from other institutions are the property of Widener University and, as such, are under the control of the Office of the Registrar. Under federal policy, a student has the right to view the documents in his or her file; the University is not required to provide (or allow the making of) copies of these documents. Transcripts submitted to Widener University for admission or credit transfer become the property of Widener University and cannot be returned to the student or forwarded to other institutions.
