Your Widener Account
Account Information
All members of the Widener Pride will have a Widener account that provides access to many platforms and resources including myWidener, your Widener e-mail, Canvas, Microsoft Office 365, and more.
Single-Sign On is utilized for most platforms so signing into myWidener will grant you access to other resources and sites without signing in to each individually, creating a better user experience.
You will have access to your Widener account throughout the duration of your time here. Students have an additional grace period beyond finishing courses with access to their account. It is important to keep your Widener account for Widener purposes only. Using your Widener e-mail to create accounts or for personal use create complications when you leave the university.
New Account Activation
Instructions for activating your Widener account are sent to the personal e-mail address you provided to the university. You will complete the process via the Password Self-Service (PSS) portal.
-
- Access the PSS portal.
-
- Use the “Login ID Lookup” option and enter your university ID number to obtain a verification code (sent to your personal e-mail).
-
- Use the “Claim My Account” option in the PSS portal to complete the activation using the verification code.
If you need help with the activation process, call the CX team for your campus.
Accessing Your Account
Password Management
All password management is done through the Password Self-Service (PSS) portal. To keep accounts secure, you will be prompted to reset your password every 6 months. The PSS portal can also be used to reset a forgotten password using either security questions or a one-time access code via text/e-mail.

Multi-Factor Authentication
Multi-factor authentication is used for Microsoft account access while not on Widener’s campus wireless network to increase account security. It is a process that requires an additional method of identity verification in addition to a password to gain account access.
