Please Note: Access to your Widener e-mail is available only while you have an active Widener account. When you are no longer taking classes or working at Widener, you will lose access to your Microsoft account. Learn more about account access upon leaving Widener.

On the Web: Access your Outlook by visiting Microsoft Outlook’s website and log in with your Widener credentials.

On a Desktop: Download the Outlook desktop app to your computer.

How can I keep my e-mails organized?

How do I create an e-mail signature?

To set up an e-mail signature in either the desktop app or browser, start by composing a new e-mail. Along the top menu, click Signatures and you will have the option to create and manage your e-mail signatures.

 

How do I setup automatic replies or out of office messages?

Setting up an automatic reply varies by type of device and software:

  • PC Desktop App: Click File, then Automatic Replies
  • Mac Desktop App: Click Tools from the top menu bar, then Automatic Replies
  • Web Browser: Click the gear in the upper right corner, then Automatic Replies in the setting menu
  • iOS App: While in your mail view, click your profile icon in the upper left corner, the gear in the bottom left corner, then Automatic Replies

 

How do I invite others to a calendar event?

In calendar view, click New Event. Directly under where you name your event, you can invite others to the event.

 

How do I share my calendar with someone else?

There are a few options for how you can share your calendar with others. Sharing your calendar will vary by type of device and software:

  • PC Desktop App: In Calendar view, click Share Calendar along the top menu and select the calendar you want to share. Type in the e-mail address of who you are sharing your calendar with and hit Enter. Choose a permission level and click Share.
  • Mac Desktop App: In Calendar view, hover over the calendar you wish to share and click the 3 dots that appear next to the name of the calendar and click Sharing Permissions. In the bottom left corner, click the + sign and type in the e-mail address of who you are sharing your calendar with. Select the level of permission and then click Add.
  • Web Browser: In Calendar view, hover over the calendar you wish to share and click the 3 dots that appear next to the name of the calendar and click Sharing and Permissions. Type in the person’s e-mail address, select the type of permission, then click Share.
  • iOS App: In the calendar view, click your profile icon in the upper left corner, then click the gear next to the calendar you wish to share. Under the Share header, click +Add People and type in the e-mail address of the person you want to share your calendar with. Select the level of permissions and then the check mark in the upper right corner.

 

 

What is Scheduling Assistant, and how do I use it?

Scheduling Assistant allows you to see a colleague’s availability to assist with planning meetings. This can be very helpful for scheduling meetings with larger groups of people.

To use Scheduling Assistant:

  1. Open a New Event
  2. Click Scheduling Assistant along the top menu
  3. Add any invitees to either the required or optional sections
  4. As you add people, a preview of their calendar will populate on the calendar view – you will only see specific event information in this preview for those who have shared their calendar with you
  5. Find days or times without existing events to schedule your meeting
  6. Click Done in the upper left corner after finding the best time to finish creating your event

 

How do I report a suspected phishing e-mail?

If you receive an e-mail that you suspect is phishing, it is crucial that you do not open any links in the e-mail. While the e-mail is open, you will see a Report option along the top of the e-mail window. You will be given the option to report the e-mail as either Junk or Phishing. Any suspected phishing e-mails should be reported as Phishing.
