Start Exploring

  • Handshake.  This is Widener’s central career platform, your one-stop location to register for career programs and search for early-career jobs and internships.  To help navigate the platform, watch this brief video.
  • Big Interview. You can never have too much practice, even well before the “big day” arrives. On this unique interactive site, you will hone your skills with questions tailored to your industry, experience level, and specific career competency areas, from analytical and communication skills to leadership and logic. After reviewing helpful hints for every type of question imaginable, you can record yourself and then export a link to your professor, career counselor, partner…and anyone else you choose to gather constructive feedback.
  • Interview Playbooks. Thoughtful, inclusive tutorials on topics such as interviewing and neurodiversity and interviewing when transitioning from military to civilian life.  Start here.
  • Resume Builder. And there’s more: in-depth tutorials for all experience levels, like this one on how to create a power-packed Resume Summary, your written elevator pitch.
  • WidenerConnect. This exclusive to Widener career mentoring platform allows you connect and network with both early-career and established alumni in your field of interest. WidenerConnect is compatible with LinkedIn; you can even export your LinkedIn profile here at the touch of a button. Start connecting today.
  • JobScan. Tired of feeling outwitted by Applicant Tracking Systems (ATSs)? Learn to optimize your resumes, cover letters, and even LinkedIn profiles to get past non-human screeners. With JobScan, you can upload both a specific position description and your document and compare them to make sure you are customizing your approach. Learn more here.

Extended virtual hours for Graduate and Continuing Studies Students to meet with a career counselor are on Wednesday and Thursday from 4 pm- 7 pm.

Graduate and Continuing Studies Students can continue to schedule appointments during our regular office hours from 9:00 AM- 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.

To schedule an appointment, email [email protected] or leave a voicemail at 610-499-4176 with the details of your appointment request. Please make sure to include your program and the reason for your appointment. A career counselor will contact you directly to set up an appointment.

Career Design and Development Access Policy for Graduate & Continuing Studies

Graduate Students

Students enrolled in either a full-time, cohort-based program (for example, the Physical Therapy (DPT) or Clinical Psychology (Psy.D) programs) or a part-time graduate study program offered on the University’s Main Campus may schedule counselor appointments based on availability, either by phone, Zoom or in person. Students may also attend all on-campus Career Design and Development clinics, workshops, and career fairs and may utilize online resources found on this website. Early-evening office hours are available, remote or in person, twice monthly to accommodate student schedules. Students enrolled in an entirely online degree have unlimited access to online resources found on this website.

Continuing Studies

Students enrolled in a Continuing Studies program on the University’s Main Campus with a minimum of 3 credits per semester may schedule individual counselor appointments based on availability, either by phone, Zoom or in person. Students may also attend all on-campus Career Design and Development clinics, workshops, and career fairs and utilize online resources found on this website.
Students enrolled in an off-campus program (for example, the Widener-Crozer Allied Health Partnership) have unlimited access to online resources found on this website.
